Yesterday evening, there was an event organized by SUP46. The entrance was for free, you had just to surmise for and enjoy your evening with entrepreneurs. I liked this event because you could come as you are; enjoy your evening meeting new people; have drinks and crisp for free. So, it was the opportunity to meet entrepreneurs to discover their start-up idea and also students who have idea and would like to launch it after their studies.

I would like to share my discussion with two of them:

 FLAG – Samuel Agboola

Samuel is one of the three co-founder of “Flag” and was working for a magazine company before launching his start-up. Flag is a Smartphone and tablet application with which you can print your photo for free. You are tired to watch pictures on your phone because you can’t watch few pictures at the same time, you would like to have pictures to look and you can’t fix your tablet on the wall. Thus, this app is for you. All the services, printing charges, mailing charges, shipping charges, are for free. So you chose twenty pictures to print on your phone and you’ll receive it few days later. How do they do it? On the back of the photo printing by Flag, there are ads and this is why it is for free. You have also a QR-code on the back to reuse your pictures, for example if you want to send it by mail or reprint it.

I really love this project and sure I would like to have this app!

Bingolabs – Björn Helgeson

Björn developed a website with two co-founders who were two classmates in “Media Management” in KTH one year ago. His website consist of gather all information about old people which are today stock in files on a shelf and lost few year after. On this website, you’ll be able to consult of these information, but also to share these information with your relatives. In this way, relatives will be informed when the grand-mother leave her house, you’ll be able to know when she could have problems.

I’ve really enjoyed this party and I liked meeting these interesting people! I advise you to be in part for the next event!

Bets regards !

This evening I was at the TEDx event : https://www.facebook.com/events/1485087678453946/

I would like to share my experience with you. The event was about to energize and motivate the participants with games, activities and recorded TED talks. One of the game was really similar than the groupwork organised last friday about build the highest building with one piece of paper. There, teams had to build the highest freestanding structure with :

  • 20 sticks of spaghetti
  • one yard tape
  • one yard string
  • one mashmallow

The mashmallow had to be one the top of the structure and teams had 18 minutes to build.

After the 18 minutes, only 3 teams out of 10 had a final structure including one that fell before being measured. It was very interesting to see how team had to organized themself, try to do their’s best to get up with the best solution but failed at the end because they didn’t think about the mashmallow they had to put on the top of the structure.

Then TEDx organizers show us a TEDx video about the game : “Mashmallow challenge”

You’ll see that statistics are very surprising : kindergarten children are more efficient than business school student !

I let you see why and the explanations of this funny game 🙂

Hey !

This morning I read an interesting article about leadership. Not about StartUp but I think that it’s important to know how to lead when you want to create StartUp. You’ll work with co-worker and you have to be able to give them responsabilities. One of the citation is :

“The Greatest Leader is not necessarily the one who does the greatest things, but the leader who gets people to do the greatest things.”

I let you learn about this article :

“What Successful Change Leadership Really is About”, Anne-Maria Yritys, Sept. 21 2015

Last evening, I join some friends to go for dinner at Vapiano  restaurant. It sounded great but I didn’t know this restaurant except that you can eat Pizza – an italian restaurant. You’ll may laugh at me to have never been be there but I would like to share my experience with you.

When I arrived there, I realized that it was so much more than a simple restaurant.

You come in an amazing place where you can be served at the individual station at the middle of Vapiano, people are sitting around long oak tables which are open to communication, there are long bar to have a break after the dinner, ….

“Chi va piano va sano e va lontano – world wide.” : According to an italian proverb “If you have an easy-going and relaxed approach to life, you’ll live more healthily and longer”

So, when you arrive, the waiter/waitress give you your personal smart-card. This card will register all the dishes you will take during your dinner. At the end of the night, you just have to give this card and pay with you credit card. Then, if you have to wait for a table because of there is too many people in the restaurant, they give you a casing which will ring when a table will be available. And what is amazing, it is that you don’t have to wait at the entrance, but you can go in and have a drink at the bar with your friend.  Moreover, it is a self service, so with your card, you can go to the differents individual station :

  • Pizza
  • Pasta
  • Antipasta
  • Specials
  • Bar
  • Deserts

When your order is made, you go back to discuss with your friends at the table and wait the ringing of the casing when your dish is ready to savor.

Thus, you can’t expect to wait at you table that the waitress/waiter serve you is this type of restaurant. It looks like a self service canteen and we can forget the traditional restaurant. But I think it is a wonderful system, because the guests can see all the ingredients, how its cook and if its seem to be fresh. Everyone can have his meal prepared to his own personal preference.

To conclude, the inventor of this chaine cumble the clients’ needs and developped his idea all over the world. People trust food, are not annoyed by the receipt and just enjoy their meal in Vapiano.

I liked it !
