I found this interesting article which I think summarizes a lot of what have been discussing in the classes. The author of the article describes what is important to think about when you first have an idea for a start-up. He includes questions about the funding, the market, the product and the business model which are all subjects which have been discussed during the time of this course. The most important thing a take with me from this article is that you should try to kill your own idea, if that is possible there is no point of spending more time on it. It might not be a fun thing to do but if the idea survives these arguments it will be much easier to continue to work on it. And one thing I’ve learnt from this course is that working on an idea as an entrepreneur will take a lot of time and energy; and it would be really pointless to have spent all that time for nothing.

Many of the questions are similar to what we are writing about in our venture papers, so if you’re not done yet take a quick look on and you might get some new ideas.

I imaging that everyone has started with their venture project by now, deciding on what kind of service or product you would like to offer customers. Much of the focus is on how the product or service is going to be better than the competition or how it is going to satisfy the customers’ needs. This is all very important, but there is something else which might be event more important namely the name of your product or service. This is the first thing your customers is going to see or here when they meet your idea for the first time.

I found this interesting podcast episode where they discuss the importance of the name, since it is the name that will symbolize what you are trying to achieve with your product or service. So, should you go for an abstract or associative name?

For me, it’s very important with innovations which can help everyone. That is probably why I choose to study medical engineering. There are a lot of interesting innovations on the market at the moment and I think that there will be even more in the future as it becomes easier and cheaper to develop new technique.

I was looking around in order to find inspiration for my pitch, and I found a website called Not Impossible Now which is writing about technology that is helping the humanity. They are also crowdsourcing solutions in order to make sure that the solutions are reaching the market, with this they are also hoping to inspire more people to be innovative. If you have some time over you should really check them out and get inspired!
