Entrepreneurial events are just expanding in size and quantity. This make me at least to search for unique events which have something new to offer. This search means that I have to try most of the events at least one time and connect with people to learn about more events which are happening.
In this process I met a student from Uppsala who was so passionate about China and what he had in mind was to connect China and Sweden when it comes to entrepreneurship and startups. He started from Uppsala but it didn’t take him long to understand that Uppsala is too small and unknown for such international project.
At the moment he has launched his Forum, Sweden China startup Forum, in Stockholm and Beijing and I had the honor to be invited for the launch event in Stockholm. I believe that the idea is amazing considering how big the market in China is and the entrepreneurial potential in Sweden. In the event investors, lawyers and startupers were having speeches about how the market is and mentioning the potentials and challenges. It was great environment with a fantastic diversity.
Their next event will be in spring and I would strongly recommend it to all of you who are interested in new opportunities!

anders wallOne thing I really like about the Entrepreneurship course is having external lecturers sharing their journeys. Every year I try to visit the Anders Wall Lecture, Scandinavia’s largest lecture within entrepreneurship. The lecture is once a year in Uppsala and will this year be hosted in Uppsala Universitetsaula the 22nd November. During the lecture several high profile entrepreneurs share their journey in becoming successful entrepreneurs. Previous years the lecture has hosted entrepreneurs like Filip Tysander (Daniel Wellington) and Petter Stordalen (Nordic Choice Hotels) and will this year host Alan Mamedi (Truecaller), Fredrika Gullfot (Simris Alg) and Stina Ehrensvärd (Youbico) among others. The lecture also usually involves an opera performance.

If you’re able to go to Uppsala on 22nd November I strongly suggest you visit the Anders Wall Lecture, I always enjoy it and also it’s free of charge!

Hi Everyone!

Last Tuesday Me, Charlotte and Emelie went to an event hosted by Netlight. The theme of the event was Entrepreneurship and Innovation. It was an inspiring evening that allowed for deeper insights of the possibilities entrepreneurship entails.

Two women were invited to share their journey from idea to reality. First out was Tamara Bernad from Bluecall. Bluecall is a marketplace for conversational and therapeutical support. Bluecall want to reduce antidepressants and help as many people as possible without interfering with pshycologists. With instant availability you can choose to either get support from volunteers for free, or pay for professional support. The idea should really get credit, although it should be noticed that a product like this is hard to promote, since you actually don’t want customers to come back and what about convincing investors?

Hedvig Ahlgren shared her journey with stagecast which is an live interaction platform for concerts. Stagecasts brings the attention back to the moment by creating astonishing interactions for live entertainment events – it makes reality brighter and better without creating digital distraction.

Me, Charlotte and Emelie summarized the event and the shared knowledge about entrepreneurship with some key takeaways:
– Fuck ups are going to happen, its okey to panic a little but act quickly and learn from it
– Know your weaknesses
– Team is a crucial factor
– Don’t overthink your idea
– Be very persistent, even if it doesn’t seem like it, it will get better

And last but not least, To all Swedes out there, don’t be so Swedish, dare to be bold and naive!
